German Language School (GLS)
GLS is the only language school in Germany with a 16.000 sqm urban campus including 2 hotels. The facilities on campus are second to none in Europe: 60 bright classrooms, a restaurant serving modern German food, 50 apartments and 72 hotel rooms of premium standard. GLS can accommodate up to 600 students at the same time: more about ages & nationalities. All teachers have university degrees.
GLS is an independent school: Barbara Jaeschke, who founded it in 1983, is directing it till today.

Communicating effectively in German (all professions)
Regardless in which field you work, whether in architecture, administration, engineering or management - this course is for you, if you need German in your workplace. This course will help you to communicate in German professionally: on the phone, by mail, in meetings, while presenting, reporting or negotiating. The focus is not on a specific profession and its terminology, it is on the German, all professionals need, regardless of their specific background.
German for lawyers
The course German for lawyers focuses on the German that is used in the field of law. You learn how to read, to understand and formulate juridical phrases in German and will gain confidence in their usage. The context of the course will be German and European law. On request meetings with German lawyers in Berlin can be arranged.
German for journalists
Germany’s print media, the most important radio and TV stations as well as multimedia groups will be introduced. The course German for journalists backs up German skills like telephoning, information gathering, skim-reading, drafting short exposes and manuscripts as well as interviewing. If requested visits to editorial offices in Berlin can be arranged.

GLS gets you ready for the most important German language certificates. GLS is a test center for TestDaF in Berlin and cooperates with the Goethe Institut Berlin: the Goethe preparatory courses take place at the GLS campus in Berlin, the exams at the Goethe Institut.
TestDaF
Duration: 4 weeks, with the exam in week 5 at GLS Berlin (Lessons: 30 per week = 20 general German + 10 TestDaF preparation)
Goethe B2, C1 and C2
Duration: 4 weeks, with the exam in week 5 at Goethe Institut Berlin (GLS will take care of your enrollment at the Goethe Institut). Lessons: 30 per week = 20 general German + 10 Goethe preparation (Levels: B2, C1, C2)
Telc B2, C1 Medicine
Exam prep course for telc Deutsch B2-C1 Medizin - a German language examination for doctors and medical profesionals seeking employment in a hospital in Germany.
Duration of the prep course: 4 weeks, with the exam telc Deutsch B2-C1 Medizin in week 5 at GLS Berlin (Lessons: 30 per week = 20 General German + 10 telc Deutsch B2-C1 Medizin). Preparation in mini-groups with maximum 6 students from Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 2.45 PM (Level you need to enroll: B1/B2)

Homestay with Berliners
Ideal if you want to practice your German “at home”: You have a single room in a flat you share with Germans. Your hosts can be couples (married or not) as well as singles, with or without kids. They can be students, taxi drivers or professors, of all ages and social strata. All hosts have been inspected, and many have been hosting our students for several years.
You will have a single room and shared kitchen and bathroom.
Apartaments
The 50 studio-apartments are in 2 buildings facing just behind the language school. All apartments used to be class rooms in a former school that was built in 1867.
Hotel
The GLS offers hotel rooms as an option for their students. Located in the campus with elegant rooms, private bathroom, TV, Wifi, refrigerator and breakfast (“Die Schule” restaurant).
