The boarding school is located at the famous Castle of Wittgenstein, ancestral home of the illustrious Sayn-Wittgenstein dynasty, and mentioned first as early as 1187. The school is a successful combination of historic and modern buildings. The campus is surrounded by woods and forests, and features ample sports facilities and even its own riding stables.

Wittgenstein Castle, where this course takes place, is located on a hill above the town of Bad Laasphe, surrounded by the charming scenery of the Rothaar Mountains, a famous nature preserve. Bad Laasphe is a well-known, picturesque German spa town about 120 km east of Cologne. The romantic River Lahn meanders through the historic town center with its timber-framed houses, adding to the picture-book atmosphere. The area around Bad Laasphe is densely wooded and offers about 200 km of hiking paths.

Parents may book a German course as well. Classes will be held separately from the children's, yet in the same building. This way, they can monitor their child's progress and see for themselves what it takes to learn German. Excursions and daytrips are for everybody. Great fun to have by everyone, parents and children alike. Don't miss out on the experience of being asked by your child whether you already did your homework for the next day!

Daily organized sports and leisure program

The boarding school’s premises are ideal for our youngest students, as they can run freely on the absolutely secluded and safe campus. The great sports facilities guarantee fun leisure time: the school provides an extra large gym of more than 1400 square meters, two indoor tennis courts, two sport fields for volleyball, basketball, streetball and soccer. Visits to the nearby outdoor and indoor swimming pools will be organized by our counselors. Another highlight: Wittgenstein is the perfect location for the horse fancier. The school owns several horses and horseback riding is offered for a small fee.
