I left Trier towards Frankfurt am Main,<\/strong> one of the most important financial centers of Europe. The decision for this city came by its relevance to the country as a whole, in addition to its strategic location that would help me to know other smaller and more unusual places.<\/p>\n

\"2016_07_05_Frankfurt<\/a><\/p>\n

From the central station (Hauptbahnhof),<\/strong> I went towards the old city center. A short walk of about 20 minutes took me to R\u00f6mer Platz,<\/strong> which has unique and beautiful buildings in classical German style. I was really surprised that in such a modern city I could see historic buildings so well preserved. I knew I should go back there later to take a Henninger! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Near the square there is the beautiful Cathedral of St. Bartholomew built in the Gothic style, originally from the seventh century. It is the largest religious building in the city and has its history linked to the Roman Catholic church. Following my itinerary, I reached the bridge Eisener Steg,<\/strong> where I got a spectacular view of the city.<\/p>\n

\"2016_07_05_Frankfurt<\/a><\/p>\n

The more I walked away from the historic center, the more I realized how modern and even futuristic is the city of Frankfurt. In a few steps, you can see the skyscrapers that shape the city skyline and contrast with the typical houses. It is indeed one of the most incredible views of the region.<\/p>\n

\"2016_07_05_Frankfurt<\/p>\n

I was curious to know the modern part of the city with its buildings often owned by big banks. Once there, I came across many executives, dressed impeccably and discussing business terms. It was close to lunch time and found then the street Kalb\u00e4cher Gasse<\/strong>, where several options of restaurants pleased me a lot.<\/p>\n

On the way back, I passed through the mall MyZeil.<\/strong> Not only to do some shopping, but also to admire the building. The modernist style architecture is all mirrored form and some ripples, an amazing visit.<\/p>\n

Before leaving the city, I passed by the World Bank and saw the famous symbol of the Euro and the European Union.<\/strong> Frankfurt is an interesting and contrasting city: business and history.<\/p>\n

My next destination is the Bodensee,<\/strong> the beautiful lake that divides Germany with Switzerland and Austria. See you then! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
